• Reminder: Pager/Radio Report

• • If you experience a radio or pager issue, please continue submitting the Radio/Pager Report Form and include as much detail as possible. You can find the report here and linked on our homepage. If you have radio or pager problems and have not been reporting them, please make a point to start doing so.

  • And an important reminder: EVERY report is reviewed by the Sheriff's Office Communications Division and their radio system vendors. They also review audio to determine whether the message was transmitted correctly from dispatch.

  • You may not receive a follow-up explaining the outcome unless they need additional information, but if you receive the confirmation email with a copy of your report, you can be confident it was successfully submitted and will be reviewed.

  • The more complete the information, the easier it is for them to identify and troubleshoot communication issues.

• Onboarding to WISCOM 800: The state is starting the process of onboarding agencies to the new WISCOM 800. To get started, ONE member of your department needs to submit a "WISCOM 800 User Inquiry," which creates a ticket that will follow you throughout the process.

• The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will be taking place at Lambeau Field on Saturday, September 12 this year. If you have anyone interested in going, let us know and we can help coordinate a group road trip.

• FM Fire Service Grant: $5,000 to improve pre-planning. Sign up here to learn more. The application window opens Aug 3. Read the FAQ and review a sample application.

EBOLA UPDATE / / / Jun 8, 2026

The risk of U.S. spread remains low. Please review high-consequence infectious disease protocols and ensure travel screening is included in patient assessments.

• Low Risk: Returning travelers are screened at airports, deemed very low-to-medium risk, and are only quarantined if they exhibit symptoms.

• Dispatch Notification: Known travelers' addresses will be flagged via 9-1-1 dispatch during the 21-day incubation window (Marathon County currently has zero).

• Mutual Aid: Check procedures with neighboring health departments if your agency operates outside Marathon County.

EARLY "DRY" SYMPTOMS

• Sore throat

• Fever

• Headache 

• Fatigue

• Muscle, joint, or back pain

LATER "WET" SYMPTOMS (usually develop 4–5 days later)

• Vomiting and nausea

• Abdominal pain

• Severe watery diarrhea

• Unexplained bruising or bleeding (such as nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or blood in stool/vomitus)
